Description

Old painting, the face is a paintover over a paintover and was reworked as a jpeg one billion times so the quality is shit, but I still like it a lot so I figured I'd share.
C&C is always welcome. :)

what do you mean by a paintover over a paintover?
I have some problems with the left part of hair. the skin texture is a bit unvonvincing around the nose.

I like the convept of the girl's face in the face and the moutains being the hands. Very thoughtful. you used very well chosen colors, that suit the whole painting atmosphere very well.
the plant doesn't look realistic, it kind of distracts.
The girl is very pretty, this sky is awesome.

Good work! as usual., keep it up!

A perfect concept!

This is really spiritual – like a religious icon or stained glass window… an Earth Maiden protecting the cycle of life, gentle, caring and nurturing, - joyful in the rebirth of the new shoots, sorrowful in the knowledge that one day they will wither and die.

The composition and concept are delightful, but I think the huge variation in technique and, honestly, quality between elements prevents this from becoming a great, cohesive piece. The face is well painted, though it has a skewed/smooshed look, as if projected onto a plane and distorted. I'm also liking the hands, but I wouldn't object to more definition, especially on the right side.
The other elements just feel unfinished or a bit half-hearted. You've shown in your other paintings that you can do some fantastic rendering--dragon, in particular, has some beautiful crisp textures--so, especially since this piece is already wonderfully surreal, I feel a bit more specificity and refinement is in order.

Errr... As a painting in the traditional sense, I am getting a "Hell No!" feeling. That said, I think if it were re-classified as "Graphic Design" instead, perceptions would be a bit different, and I would say "Hell yeah this is wicked". Seriously, this looks like it could easily be a CD/DVD cover, used for wallpaper, put on a greeting card, used to advertise a new fragrance, tons of stuff.
